WELCOME!

...to a nonprofit organization dedicated to an integrative approach to help people with RSD/CRPS and other chronic pain conditions manage symptoms, improve functionality, and increase quality of life.

You do not need to be a patient at USC. We do not push any agenda. We gather, we listen, and we support the chronic pain community.

We meet on the 3rd Saturday of each month from 10:30am to approximately noon - with presentations and seminars every 3 months - to share the latest innovations and support every day pain living.

OUR MISSION

To advance research, education, and professional practice related to RSD/CRPS and other chronic pain disorders.

Our mission is to provide a safe place where people with chronic pain can support one another, develop friendships, share ideas and thoughts, obtain information about their condition from professionals and each other, and learn coping skills in a nonjudgmental and caring atmosphere.

GOALS

  • Create a community of people facing similar medical conditions, and related life challenges and emotional issues

  • Present an informal and friendly environment of positive reinforcement, validation, emotional support and hopefulness with a concentration on pain management and life skills

  • Present a safe, non-judgmental community to enable participants to explore and verbalize powerful emotions and thoughts; foster a medium for honest sharing of experiences and feelings

  • Share common concerns with people who are going through similar experiences

  • Talk, discuss and listen equally

  • Develop new skills to relate to others

  • Provide both emotional and practical support, acceptance, feedback, etc.

  • Share, exchange and circulate information and ideas

  • Explore ways of leading positive, fulfilling lives

  • Provide opportunities for personal growth

  • Discover and develop inner potential

  • Increase inner feelings of strength and self esteem

  • Explore opportunities to improve daily functioning on all levels

  • Find ways of helping ourselves and fostering further independence

  • Promote the general welfare of persons with neuropathic chronic pain

  • Develop healthy, positive coping strategies

  • Foster the journey to wholeness by encouraging and exploring healing, recovery and quality of life

  • Help group members decrease or relieve feelings of isolation, confusion, despair, distress or depression

  • Implement specific collaborative efforts when appropriate

  • Provide the opportunity for group members to pool information about everything from resources for legal, medical, or financial help to referrals for finding the best plumber, mechanic, or decorator.
